CDC Mutual AID Network
The CDC Mutual Aid Network is a collaboration between CDC Workers, CDC Alumni, Fired But Fighting, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2883, and the Family Support Center. The network is open to all CDC workers, including FTEs, fellows, and contractors.
Support the CDC Workforce!
Donate here to help CDC workers in need through the CDC Mutual Aid Network Assistance Fund. Your contribution—big or small—will have a direct impact. Whether it's covering groceries, rent, or medical bills, every dollar helps a fired CDC worker get back on their feet.
-
$50 can help cover needed prescriptions
-
$75 can help pay the electrical or water bill for the month
-
$100+ can make a difference towards buying groceries or paying the rent
The CDC Mutual Aid Assistance Fund is operated in partnership with the Family Support Center (Federal Tax ID: 58-1979047), an Atlanta-based nonprofit dedicated to helping families in need. More than 99 cents of every dollar given will go straight to those in need. Your gift is tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.
We fully anticipate that all funds will go to terminated employees. However, if donations exceed direct needs for those who have lost jobs, excess funds will be donated to AFGE Federal Employee Defense Fund to support legal and other strategies to defend American public employees.
Request Assistance
Are you a member of the CDC workforce (FTE, fellow, or contractor) who has lost your job since Jan 20, 2025 due to a Reduction in Force (RIF), contract termination, or other action?
Apply here for assistance from the CDC Mutual Aid Network Assistance Fund.
Assistance will be provided as one-time, direct, non-taxable gift to former CDC staffers facing financial hardship. Applications are reviewed and recommended by an independent committee based on need, ensuring fairness and transparency.

Additional Resources
Check out the CDC Mutual Aid Network Resource Portal, which provides a list of resources available to CDC workers, including legal aid, healthcare, job boards, and more.
You can also join the CDC Mutual Aid Community Signal chat. This is a space where people can share what they need and what they have to offer—whether it’s a service, an item, a skill, or support. The Signal channel is explicitly for this purpose, so members of the CDC community can connect directly and help meet each other’s needs in real time.
