🚨BREAKING NEWS: On October 28, 2025, U.S. District Court Judge Susan Illston (Northern District of California) granted a Preliminary Injunction (PI) in AFGE v. OMB, which continues halting all Federal Reduction-in-Force (RIF) actions initiated or approved by OMB during the current government shutdown. The ruling applies nationwide to any agencies--including CDC/HHS--with at least 1 AFGE Member or BUE that applied the new OMB RIF framework.🚨
Fedhr navigator
Effective June 29, 2025, HHS discontinued the GRB Platform for retirement and benefits requests for CDC employees and has transitioned to FedHR Navigator.
-
You can access FedHR Navigator outside CDC network. See Step # for registering your personal email.
-
CDC OHR no longer has access to an employee's current or previous retirement requests, documents, or reports previously submitted in GRB.
-
Employees who had an open request in GRB should submit a new benefits request to the CDC Service Desk and include all required documents. (Do not include the hard copy of the retirement application.)
-
Employees who previously submitted a retirement application in GRB will receive instructions from the Benefits and Employee Services Offices (BESO) to complete a new application in OPM's new Online Retirement Application Portal.
How to register on fedhr Navigator
Step 1
Go to the FedHR Navigator site for HHS and click "Register Now".

Step 2
Fill in your information.

Step 3
Accept the FedHR Navigator Rules of Behavior for Agency Application Users

Step 4
Fill out your personal information.
-
Make sure to check the box that says "I want to update my email address". Otherwise, registration and notifications will go to your CDC email, which if you are ever separated, you will no longer have access.
-
Make sure that your password meets all four of the security conditions because the platform will allow you to move forward to the login in page but it will give you an error message that your username or password was incorrect.

Step 5
Click save changes and then click "Return to Login" (just clicking "save changes" will not navigate you back to a login page).

Step 6
When logging in for the first time, you will need to verify your email (it takes a minute and may go to junk/spam folder) and phone number.
